After allowing Novak Djokovic special entry into Australia despite being unvaccinated, the Australian Government revoked his Visa. Debate has since ensued in response to the confusion surrounding his entry, and whether or not Tennis Australia or the Government were at fault. Djokovic’s treatment whilst awaiting his trial sparked criticism from a number of Australians who have noted that the country’s treatment of refugees is far less humane and received far less media attention. Background Information:
As the most recent Omicron strain of COVID swept the country, the shortages of rapid antigen tests (RATs) became a significant problem for Australians. As the Federal and State Governments navigated changes in restrictions and regulations, the shortages of RATs has placed a strain on individuals who are trying to abide by the law. Many Australians are of the belief that it is the Government’s poorly organised management of the Omicron wave that has caused this problem and believe that they should be doing more to help citizens gain access to RATs.

Background Information:
After outwardly condemning the Government’s management of Women’s Issues, former Australian of the Year, Grace Tame has incited debate over her interactions with the Prime Minister, Scott Morrison. In photos taken at the annual Pre-Australia day ceremonies at the Prime Minister’s Lodge, Tame appeared unhappy and has come under scrutiny for not smiling. In turn, questions have been raised about censorship and whether personal opinion trumps the need to conform to the opinion of authority figures.
