Essay:

When you write an essay you are making a case for a particular point of view, analysis, interpretation, or set of facts or procedures.There are many types of essays. Some of the more common types are Argumentative, Descriptive, Narrative, Compare & Contrast. and Analytical.

Report:

Reports are different to essays in many ways, with one difference being the structure. While essays are read linearly from beginning to conclusion, reports can be broken down into independent sections that can be read as stand-alone pieces. These sections contain headings and subheadings to help the reader navigate the document.

Case Study:
Case study is a research approach that investigates a topic or issue by focusing on a representative person, group of people, or other sample. A case study can focus on a real or hypothetical situation,

Literature Review: 

A literature review identifies, describes, evaluates and synthesises the relevant literature or current research on a topic and explains how the knowledge in a field developed, how it is understood and how it is evolving.

Annotated Bibliography:

An annotated bibliography provides a brief account of research on a given topic. It is a list of research sources that includes concise descriptions and evaluations of each source. Annotations usually contain a brief summary of content and a short analysis or evaluation. Depending on your assignment, you may be asked to reflect, summarise, critique, evaluate or analyse the source.
